Goal: Turn a positivity blog into a profitable Positivity Clothing Brand


Outcome: Grew Community to 2,000 subscribers, and created 2 clothing campaigns.

My Goal

The goal was to take What Makes Us Happy—my Instagram blog—and turn it into a profitable clothing brand. Social media was always going to be the main way I shared the message and built a community, so I focused on Instagram, where it all started. This was before TikTok existed, so it was just me experimenting, seeing what resonated, and figuring out how to turn a message into something people would want to wear.

At its core, the goal was simple: translate the blog’s voice into clothing and grow a loyal community around it.

How I did it

I did the following to reach our goal:

  • Built a workflow for users to submit stories and grant permission for their use in product designs.

  • Partnered with a clothing printer while managing production, fulfillment, and shipping in-house.

  • Created recognizable cartoon characters to strengthen brand identity and memorability.

  • Grew reach through daily Instagram posting focused on shareable, viral content.

  • Increased engagement by tying purchases to community-focused causes.

Rather than following social trends in the positivity space, the focus was on building a recognizable voice that encouraged conversation, loyalty, and return audiences.

Results

  • Grew the channel to 2,000+ subscribers.

  • Generated $1,000+ in profit.

  • Led two seasonal launches (Summer & Winter).

  • Converted viewers into repeat customers

  • Built a loyal, engaged community.
